Facts in brief
The wife in the present case filed a domestic violence case. Not satisfied with the decision of the trial court, she challenged the order before the sessions court.The sessions court enhanced the maintenance. Dissatisfied by this, the wife approached the High Court. The High Court found that the wife was well-educated, hence dismissed her petition.Dissatisfied again, the wife approaches the Supreme Court.
Judgment
The Supreme Court held that the husband is entitled to pay maintenance even if the wife is well educated and enhanced the maintenance amount to Rs.25,000.
