SC stays execution of Khalistani terrorist Bhullar

Brief :
The bench comprising of Chief Justice P. Sathasivam, Justice R.M. Lodha, Justice H.L. Dattu and Justice S. J. Mukhopadhaya stayed the execution of Khalistani terrorist, Devinderpal Singh Bhullar, who was involved in the bomb blast in Delhi in the year 1993 on a curative petition filed by his wife Navneet Kaur. The Court has also directed Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), to send a report about the health condition of the death row convict within a period of one week.

      The Court made the following

                               O R D E R 

Pursuant to our direction dated 24

 January,

2014 the District Judge, Birbhum District, West Bengal,

alongwith Chief Judicial Magistrate and Team of Persons

inspected the place in question and submitted a report

to  this  Court.  In  the  report,  we  do  not  find  any

information about the steps taken by the Police against

the  persons  concerned.   Accordingly,  we  direct  the

Registrar of this Court to forward a copy of the Report

of  the  District  Judge,  Birbhum,  West  Bengal,  to  the

Chief Secretary, West Bengal and  who in turn submit a

detailed report and the follow up action by the Police

concerned to this Court within a period of two weeks.
