GIST OF RECOMMENDATIONS UNDER PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO REGISTRATION ACT AS RECOMMENDED BY THE LAW COMMISSION REPORTS
- Amendment to Civil Procedure Code, 1908 – Order 21, Rule 16
- Suitable provision to be made under Order 41, Rule 1 of Civil Procedure Code, 1908
- Amendment to Section 68 of the Indian Evidence Act
- Amendment to Insolvency Laws, Transfer of Property Act.
- Definition of Immovable Property and Notice under Section 3
- Amendments to Hindu Laws on Adoption.
PRESENT STATUS AS ADVISED BY THE MINISTRY
- The Land Acquisition Act, 1894 has been repealed by Section 114 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement (RFCTARR) Act, 2013.
- The Registration Amendment Bill, 2013 is to amend the Registration Act, 1908, and is pending before the Rajya Sabha.
CONCLUSION
Except for matters related to Land Acquisition Act other proposals under Registration Act is “PENDING” for more than a century.
