How to Obtain Caste Certificate in Sikkim
Eligibility
All people belonging to the Scheduled Castes, and born in Sikkim, are eligible to get the Caste Certificate. All the District Collectors' Offices in Sikkim are the concerned authorities providing the certificate. One has to collect the form for the Caste Certificate from the respective single window counter and the filled form has to be submitted there.
Necessary Documents
The following attested/certified documents are to be submitted by the applicant:
- Sikkim Subject Certificate/Certificate of Identification/Citizinship Certificate.
- Birth Certificate/Panchayat Report to certify the name of the father and caste.
- School Certificate indicating the name of the father and the exact date of birth of children entered in the register on admission to school, in support of father's SSC.
- Panchayat verification report/report from area MLA.
- Two passport sized photographs of the applicant.
Note.
- Children above the age of 18 years have to produce a certified copy of the SSC/COI of their own instead of their father's SSC.
- In case the applicant does not posses SSC/COI in his/her own name then a police verification report is required.
- In the case of women, their Birth Certificates/Panchayat Reports have to be produced to certify the name of the father and the caste of their parents.
