Que.1.Dear Experts, Please explain difference between Quashing and Setting aside of a Suit?
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 09 March 2010
There is no word like setting aside of suit rather there is only setting aside of order. If any interim order is passed by courts and on the application of the affected party, it is taken back then it is called as setting aside of the order whereas quashing means to end up any of the final order/writ/judgment after taking into consideration all facts and law.

Setting aside- When a party gets aggrieved by any order of a lower court, a revision petition is filed to set aside that order.

Quashing- When a party is aggrieved by a judgment, an appeal is filed to quash the judgment

Quashing (criminal cases)-To make void or declare invalid.
setting aside(civilcases) - putting aside a order or judgement by another order or judgement
Somnath mukherjee (Expert) 11 March 2010
SETTING ASIDE IS RELATED TO ANY SPECIFIC ORDER ON THE OTHER HAND THE IS RELATED TO THE ENTIRE CASE
