Under the Civil Service Rules an employee of Govt is prohibited from engaging himself in rendering any services for period of two years withoput prermission of the Govt. Thereafter they are free to undertake rendering such sercvices to their clients without seeking the Govts permission.

Dear Sir,

It means Governement Officers are allowed to influence and to do corruption.

But, Advocates in our country are ristricted under section 45 of the Advocates Act 1961, who are working or fighting against wrongs or defending innocent citizens.

Is it not discrimination?

We are ready to correct our selves, please advice.

The two year embargo after retirement proceeds on the basis that after two years period the person concerned may not be able to exert much influence. At any rate there cannot be any permenant prohibition on the retired persons against engaging themselves in consultancy or other works.Pl ealaborate ur second point.

How anybody can generalise and attribute corruption or misuse? A retired person can give expert advice on the related matters and make use of his time for the benefit of others. Mr.Gupta is right that there cannot be any permanent prohibition basing on assumptions. Your reference of Sec.45 of of the Advocates Act 1961 has no relevancy to your query.
