Hi, My father died in 2009. I was 22 years of age then. My father didn't share his investment & wealth details when he died suddenly. After all these years, how can I make use of his PAN card number to get the investment & wealth details of my father? Can I file an RTI to I-T department seeking the I-T returns of my father up until 2009? In what other ways can his PAN card number be used to excavate information regarding his investment & wealth? Also, my father was a retired pensioner of the TN gov't when he died. Can that be used in some way in my search? Please advise.

You may ask from the Bank, information is possible if PAN is entered in the account.
Better search all his belongings, locker if hired to get information. If locker was hired, prey the Banker to break open and list the inventory to claim as per procedure.
If nothing is available at home, there is possibility that he may be having locker.

Your mother or elder siblings should be in the know of his investments.

PAN has no relevance for the purpose of information about wealth or investments.
Check his investment documents, which may be in the custody of your mother or lying in a bank locker.
