Dear Experts,

If one wants to file a Writ or PIL in High Court or Supreme Court as "Party in Person" can it be filed by printing on ordinary A4 size white paper or it has to be printed on some specific type of paper like court stamp paper?
Kirti Kar Tripathi (Expert) 27 February 2011
In Uttar Pradesh it can be on legal size white plain papers.

Tripathi Sir by Legal size, is it A4 size white plain paper that is commonly used for photocopies?
Advocate. Arunagiri (Expert) 27 February 2011
It should be the same as the filing of the advocates. The only difference is you need not file vakalat.
Kirti Kar Tripathi (Expert) 28 February 2011
i think, A4 size will be not be permissible. you may inquire from the registry office of the High Court.
Out of Court (Expert) 01 March 2011
In the Supreme Court of India:
Legal size paper, plain white with set margin--- top:1.5, left: 2, bottom: 2, right:1, (Size: 8.5 x 14 inches )
For the High Courts, either specify the Name or get in touch with the practicing lawyer f the Concerned High Court as the formats do vary from Court to Courts..
