Dear Sir,

Under Section 125 of CrPc, the wife's claim for maintenance may be defeated in the following circumstances:

1. If the wife is living in adultery. 

2. If without sufficient reason she refuses to live with her husband. Sufficient reason means the same thing as sufficient ground. 

3. If the parties are living separately by mutual consent.

You can take the relief of the above mentioned to deny your wife's claim for maintenance.
