The application for further evidence must be under S.311, which can be allowed at any stage.
It depends on the nature of evidence, if it is for emphasizing certain aspects which remained doubtful during cross, then no need for S.313 again. Yes accused will be given opportunity to provide further countering evidence or even can apply for written supplementary statement under S313(5).
