If the offence is registered in West Bengal, then the investigation will also be conducted by the police of that State, irrespective of where you reside. Offence is registered and investigated by the police of the police station within whose local jurisdiction the offence has actually taken place. It has nothing to do with where the complainant resides or where the accused person resides.
