About property rights

My maternal grand father had some land in his name and in his living period he married for second time after the death of his first wife, from first wife he had three daughters and from second wife he had children. My mother is from his first wife, so I want to know that is there any provision by that my mother could get some part of the land?? If there is such provision then please tell that how could my mother apply for that and please share the legal distribution about the sharing of land property after the death any person.
