Adoption

Respected Members,

My neighbor Neha, she is 22 years old and unmarried. She works in a hospital and three months she met a three year old abandoned kid  who was admitted into the hospital by the street passers and she was informed that this child met with an accident at the roadside and there is no clue of his parents. After the treatment, she took the child with her and she also lodged a complaint in the Police Station but no one came to look for the child. She decided to keep the child with her only but there is no official documents of adoption. I want to ask the respected members that is it legal to keep a child in this way and can she adopt a child and if she can then what is the procedure for adoption?

Please guide.

As per your query, let me tell you that Child adoption is seen as an increasing trend in India and across the world.

Most of the adoptions are due to similar situations as you've stated in your query i.e. either because the parents are not able to have their own kids or because they want to support and give a new lease of life to a child who has been left alone in the world.

I've laid down a link below, by clicking upon which you can attain more detailed input regarding adoption and overall process involved for the same —
