Advice on matrimonial duties

Dear Esteemed Members,

1. In a Hindu Marriage if a husband has to move from one city to another (due to family responsibilities), is it binding on wife to join her husband?

2. As per Indian Law, does a husband need to seek approval from his wife before taking any such step?

3. How does a husband prove that the intent was not to abandon his wife and wishes to continue the marriage and the wife can join him.

According to law, wife if in govt service can get a transfer easily where the husband has got transferred.

Such things should be done out of understanding, only idiots approach law for each and every situation.  There should be love and compassion in married life, not police and courts.

And you are correct in asking your wife to join you at your new posting, but you cannot force her in anyway to join you legally also, if she is unwilling to join you.

Dear Sir, Many thanks for your response. I completely agree with you that such issues should be adressed by understanding amicably but i am seeking legal opinion as this understanding is not there. How about private employment if company's offices are in second city as well? Also kindly advise on point 2 and 3.
