Andhra pradesh 498 a compundable

I have read that allegations under 498 A are compundable in AP. What does that mean?

compoundable means that if the parties compromise then the proceedings can be quashed though 498A is non compoundable that means if the parties compromise the criminal proceedings cannot be quashed. Such powers are vested with high court. if the cases are compoundable in AP that would mean that the lower court judge would have the power to Quash the proceedings if the parties compromise.
