Hi,
As part of water meter installation works carried out at our apartments the old pipes from the terrace to individual flats were replaced with new PVC pipes but the pipe that connecting the toilets and kitchen was untouched which was where blockages still persisting as per the new plumber appointed by one of the Committee member. Upon his advise of pouring in acid into the pipes, saying that would clear the blockages, we reluctantly agreed to it before getting a firm confirmation from the plumber's end that the acid that is going to be poured into the pipes will not flow through kitchen taps as we got appliances like water purifier, washing machine etc., are connected and they could be damaged.
But shockingly after plumber poured the acid into the pipes from the terrace, acid came out of kitchen pipes also damaging our appliances and also burning the hands.
This has been reported to the Apartments Committee Office to take necessary action to prevent this from happening again and also to compensate for the loss incurred.
Right from the begining our pleas were not given due attention by the Committee members and hasn't responded properly. In spite of repeated follow ups no action has been taken since weeks.
Could you please share the information or necessary steps that we could take and proceed legally in order to deal with this irresponsible Committee.
Thank you.
Regards,
Sridhar
