My parents and I stay in a 50 flat apartment. In the past couple of years with the verbal consent of the Association secretary, we got some repair work carried out in the common area of apartment - like getting water tank repaired, getting pump repaired etc.. the secretary asked us to adjust the expenditure against monthly maintenance. Yesterday we got a legal notice from him addressed to my mother asking us to pay the maintenance dues. He is not refusing to acknowledge the receipts related to building repairs and saying that we will have to pay the maintenance.
My father is the flat owner and I am the only earning member. He has sent the notice to my mother despite my father, the owner, residing in the apartment. Please let me know if the notice has any validity? My mother physically pays the rent that\'s all.
