Apartment transfer fees

Hi I have purchased a flat in society which is under Apartment and not Hsg soc. At the time of taking home lone , bank did not ask No objection certificate saying that since it is apartment and not hsg soc. But the Apt comitte is asking for transfer fees after the deal. Is this allowed legally?

Please advice

Mika

Dear Mika,

Yeah even under Apartments Act, if there is a registered society/Association of the owners/occupants of such apartment, if they are insisting for payment as per the bye-laws of the Association/Society, then you have to pay it by joining as new member in place of old member
