Asking for Gold after Khula

My brothers wife asked for Khula from him even though my brother and father went to reason with her. They pressured them to sign. Qazi said its not good to ask jewellery back so my dad and brother dint ask but later we came to know that you can take what jewellery you have given. Now they are refusing to hand over the jewellery and saying we cannot ask anymore about it.. but we want our gold back. They are threatning us and saying u should be happy we didnt go to court or ull would have had to pay alimony. Is this true.
