Hello,
I am an Indian national married to a german national. I am currently applying for a long-term visa for germany. The german embassy today told me that my birth certificate is not valid because it only shows my father's name and not my mothe's name! How can I get my mother's name also on the birth certificate. How long is the procedure and is it possible to do this? Pls HELP!!! it is really urgent.

respected querist,
you can approach the concerned authorities where your family had registered your birth,ask them to enter your mothers name in the registration and issue the new birth certificate.if they deny to do the sent the office a legal notice through an advocate mentioning other documents where you have your mothers name entered theie if still they deny to do so file a suit for declaration in the civil court foor this.it can take 4 to 6 months depending upon the burden of the court.
