Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is a state owned organization that helps in recruitment of aspirants into different civil services vacancies.

The judicial services exam of BPSC consists of two types of papers-

  • Compulsory papers
  1. General knowledge including current affairs (150 Marks)
  2. General English (100 Marks)
  3. General Hindi (100 Marks)
  4. Elementary General science (100 Marks)
  5. Law of Evidence and Procedure (150 Marks)

(English and Hindi are of qualifying nature)

 

  • Optional papers (any 3)

These subjects include the following sub-topics:

 

  1. Law of Contracts and Torts (150 Marks)
  • Indian Contract Act,1872

Law of Torts-

  • General Principles of Liabilities
  • Remedies, nuisance
  • Assault
  • Conspiracy

 

2. Commercial Law (150 Marks)

  • Sale of Goods
  • Negotiable Instruments
  • Company law
  • Partnerships

 

3. Transfer of property Act, Law of Trusts, Principles of Equity and Specific Relief Act (150 Marks)

4. Constitutional law of India (150 Marks)

  • Article 1-395 and schedules

         Administrative law of India-

  • Delegated legislation
  • Fair hearing, Audi Alteram Partem
  • Public Interest Litigation (PIL)

5. Hindu law and Mohammedan law (150 Marks)

  • Hindu Law including Schools, Adoption, Marriage, Impartible Estate and Endowment
  • Mohammedan Law includes Marriage Law, Wills, Legitimacy, Adoption, Acknowledgement, Guardianship, etc.
