Calculation of dues with compound interest

Dear All, One of the company has took a security amount with an agreement to pay 12% interest. With in one year that company discontinue the agency and hold the amount of security. I filed a suit of recovery against them. NOw my question is that: If the company is holding my money deliberately in that case: If company made me payment of interest yearly in that case i get interest amount every year and it helps me to get additional revenue. WE have no commercial relationship with that company since they terminated the contract. Shall i get my security deposit refunded with compound interest or not. Is there any decisions from apex courts are available in favor of compound interest. Kindly do favor.

As per the agreement, whatever mode of interest, is applicable.

Mr. Akhileshwar: Why do you butt in here. Open a separate post.

Vijay Bhuta: If it is a case of default not anticipated in the agreement, if any, you can claim compond interest. It will be up to the court to decide the rate of interest and the compounding.
