Can i build a room in terrace

i have 1BHK flat with big terrace so now i am planning to build or convert terrace into bedroom.
is it legal???
give me some suggestions

Assuming you have obtained the occupancy certificate (OC), please check the State Industrial Development Corp. website on flat modification after obtaining OC.

If you live in a society, it is suggestable to obtain their consent...
