Can i know if wife filed 498a or fir ?

Can the husband ask approach the police station to know if there is any FIR registered against him ?

Here is the context: My wife left my home following a dispute. After 3 months when I asked her to return, she sent me a letter describing my acts as mental cruelty, physical abuse, and unnatural demand by my family. None of this is true. She is also wanting "forgive my family" and wants to return if I send her money. Clearly she has accused me in ambiguous terms of both abuse / cruelty and dowry, and I believe she has also filed a case to use it against me in future if needed, but not taken any action yet as she also wants to return.

Is there a way to know if there is actually any case filed against me and my parents / sister ?

Yes you can move an application in the juridictional magistrate court in which your thana comes, ask the court that is there any criminal case is registered or pending against you in the thana / ps of your juriductional area, the magistrate will give direction to the concern ps to give details of your information and then you can get the details , or you can file rti on the ps .

As well said by experts, the easy option atleast in Bangalore would be to first check in PS of your area and then go the respective magistrate courts to see if FIR has been registered (as FIR dairy gets updated every day). Again, once a FIR is registered, your music and "rock and roll" or " disco dance" should have begun by now. The fact you are not sure , possibility is FIR is not registered. Roll up your sleeves dude and join the wagon soon!!!
