Can property be demanded from father

What is the nature of the property, is it self acquired or ansectral. If the property is self acquired then the answer is NO you cannot claim the property during his lifetime, further, he can also write his will on his self acquired property distributing the property in such manner he wishes. However, if the property is ansectral then you can claim your share of the property from him.
