Can you get back complaint?

Can you get back the written complaint submitted to police for editing some changes? Like wrong car no. etc?

If police has not lodged it yet, it is possible otherwise complainant may explain the clerical mistake if any  in his statement during investigation.

Once you have lodged a complaint, if you want to cancel it, you may, you cannot get it back, if you want to make changes in it, you may have to give an additional complaint stating reasons in it.
