sir,
in chennai or india in general, how seriously does police takes the man handling matters.
one of my friend is assaulted by a car driver recently and he needs some help.
what is the process to get a case filed and what evidences are required. since it happened a week ago, i am not sure whether if eye witness can be collected. can we bring him to court and get compensation claimed for this...what sort of compensation can be claimed.
kindly please advise

need punishment in the form of compensation.and if he cant compensate..he should be given a severe punishment by law..
