how long it's been since you filed FIR?

Rajiv Bahl   13 July 2020

fir was filed against accused more than a year ago

If the accused has been arrested and is in judicial custody then police are given 60 days for a minor and 90 days for a major accusation and charges to file a chargesheet. If accused is on bail there is not time limit prescribed.if you are complanaint there is nothing much to do. and if accused has not been arrested yet or unknown, it may take longer or never.
but if you are accused, you can approach high court to ask police to file chargesheet.

keep in touch with IO.you can approach magistrate under whom the jurisdiction lies to know about the progress report of FIR.

sir accused is on court bail in a non bailable offence, but io has not submitted charge sheet for over an year.
