Chawl room purchase

hi, i purchased room in chawl in mumbai.

Following things where done.

1. deed

2.power of attorney

3. agreement

All orginal documents lighbill, ration card, photoid, slum identity card were handed over to me by the person who sold it.   All the documentation and other things were completed in layers office (stamping/signing etc) and orginals of those document handed over to me.  Is this sufficent to prove that i am the new owner or i need to do something more (registration etc) for this chawl room as i didnt see any involvement of govt officials till now in this purchase and all happened between myself/seller/highcourt lawyer..

please advise.

thanks

even in canteen such procedure can be done but it is not legal if it is not registered to become the document has to be registered in the sub registrar office paying stamp duty and then you would be legal owner

enquire with your neighours what they have done
