One of our relation (about 70 year of age) promised me a flat in bangalore and I have paid 40L without any agreement but, now after starting construction they demanding more money. I have paid money by cheques. now what is my options to go with it or take back my money with interest.

ask him to enetr into agreeement of sale with you.

Take from the developer or the seller whoever may be receipts for your payment as well as enter into thorough correspondence inscribing your interest in the particular property. Secondly you need to send a draft of agreement to him thereby showing your bonafides. Thirdly find out who the actual seller..
