Compensation from electric board for property damage

Dear team

There was an electric pole beside my house. It was very weak, fragile and on the verge of falling for nearly a month. I had complained in the electric department and also informed the president of our housing society about it. But still no action was taken. Yesterday when there was heavy rain and fast blowing winds, the electric pole got uprooted and feel on my balcony which destroyed my boundary wall and some potted plants in my balcony. Can I sue the electric board office? Or what steps should I take?

Thank you

This may considered as act of God hence your case may not be entertained by the court including the consumer forum.

However you can issue a legal notice demanding compensation towards the damages caused due to the electric pole falling on your property and damaging the property on the basis of your earlier complaint bout the weak and fragile pole, after that, if the department do not comply with the demands, you my approach civil court with a suit for damages and try your luck for compensation.

Based on the earlier complaint to the electrical department ignore your complaint then you can issue a notice for damage of your property. then you can sue against them in a appropriate court of law. for which better to consult local lawyer and act accordingly.
