Competent authority

Respected Advocates,

What is the process of getting a wrong SURVEY NUMBER CANCELLED in the pattdar pass book of a person.Does TAHSILDAR IS COMPETENT to cancel the SURVEY NUMBER in a pattadar passbook.Who is the COMPETENT AUTHORITY to cancel the Survey number in the pattadar passbook.Please advice me.

Normally the Thasildhar is the competent authority and there is prescribed procedure for effecting correction of wrong Survey number. Substantial proof of documents to the satisfaction of competent are required to be submiited on your part. If there is any problem/ delay perceived,then you may opt for civil remedy like declaratory suit.

You should obtain the correct survey number from the fair adangal (Pahani) copy and then apply to the RDO, through the Tahsildar to correct the Survey number in pattadar pass book and title deeds.  but normally it will take some time.
