Sir, Whether the Surpanch of Grampanchayath is competent to issue Death Certificate?. I heard that in the past he can, but not now. plz.. clarify...

Patwari of the village can issue death certificate.Or Registrar of Births and Deaths of Municipality can issue death certificate.

In Tamil Nadu, in a village, the Village Administrative Officer issues and not the Panchay President.
