Hi! Please take note of section 300 under CrPC to be more clear.
As per section 300, a person once convicted or acquitted for an offence cannot be tried for the same offence. This is commonly known as the doctrine of double jeapardy. However, if you have have been charged for, say theft, you can be charged again on the same facts for the offence of robbery if the requirements of the latter's section are met with.
