Compulsory acquisition of co owned land

Hi,

I am co owner of a piece of land that was recently compusorily acquired by the government for road widening.

Me and the other co owners had demarked our parts by digging a small demarkation line between the plots. Now due to the angle of the proposed road a larger chunk of my part is being acquired, however since in the government records the land is in the joint names, the compensation was awarded equally among all the co owners. Now because a larger chunk of my part was acquired, can I legally get the demarkation line shifted so that the remaining land is divided equal among all the co owners. Other co owners are resisting this as they have received equal compensation despite a larger portion of my land being acquired. Need your urgent opinion on this.
