Concession in school fees

I am a separate woman living with my daughters since 3 years. Divorce case is going on with my husband. I don't want my daughters to compromise on quality education. They are studying in well known school but its expenses are a bit high for me. is there any law for single mothers in which goverment provides special aids for education

It is not a legal issue, madam. There are no such special aids. You can consult the Government, through the District Collector concerned, to sanction a fee exemption.

You can file  a maintenance petition for maintenance and children education expense under section 125 Cr.p.c. before the same court where this divorce case is going on.

There is no provision in law to direct the government to financially assist you or give concession in fees in this regard

The private schools have their own policies and if you want to make your kids educated through standard schools you have to finance that yourself, your husband is bound to prvide the maintenance for kids and you should file application in court for mainetnance

I completely understand your concern as a single mother.

Fortunately, there are laws and initiatives in India that provide support for single mothers and their children's education:

Government Initiatives and Schemes 1. *National Scheme of Incentives to Girls for Secondary Education (NSIGSE)*:

Provides financial assistance to girls from single-parent families, including those with divorced or separated parents.

 2. *Saksham Scholarship Scheme for Girls*: Offers scholarships to meritorious girls from economically weaker sections, including those from single-parent families.

 3. *Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Scheme*: Aims to promote girls' education and empowerment, with a focus on single-parent families.

State-Specific Schemes 1. *Delhi Government's Scheme for Free Education to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Students*:

Provides free education to students from EWS families, including those from single-parent households.

2. *Maharashtra Government's Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Yojna*:

Offers scholarships to students from economically backward classes, including those from single-parent families.

Educational Institutions' Concessions 1. *Single Parent Concession*: Some schools offer concessions or discounts to students from single-parent families.

2. *Need-Based Scholarships*: Many schools provide need-based scholarships to students from economically weaker sections, including those from single-parent households. How to Avail These Benefits

1. *Contact the School*: Reach out to your daughters' school administration to inquire about available concessions or scholarships.

2. *Government Websites*: Visit government websites, such as the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) or the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), to explore available schemes and initiatives.

 3. *Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)*: Contact NGOs that focus on women's empowerment and education, such as the Indian Women's Association (IWA) or the Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA).

Remember to research and review the eligibility criteria and application processes for each scheme or concession.
