Concilation notice from Credit card company.

Sir / Madam I got a concilation notice from HDFC Bank's advocate on 12/9/16 for an amicable settlement of the Credit card dues (Rs 109044.51) via email. The date of concilation proceeding is 21/9/16 & 22/9/16 at HDFC Bank office in Kolkata. If I don't go there what legal steps bank can take against me ? What steps should I take to safeguarding me?

Mr Kunal,

They are only being courteous and using better ways to resolve the issue of non-payment which is blocking credit card, blacklisting you and subbsequently issuing Notice.

In case you default again and avoid making payment, the bank can take action aagainst you in courts of law (suit for recovery, winding up petition etc). To avoid unecassary Litigation, the Bank is only giving you a warning which most financial institutions do just to avoid face of court

You are advised to hire a lawyer and go for the concilliation or else  absconding and avoiding payment will only attract further interest and unplesant circumstances.
