Construction of illegal temple

Hi. I have a plot of freehold land in ghaziabad, uttar pradesh. There is a banyan tree (barh) in the middle of the plot. In order to construct on that plot, i need to cut that tree. But the locals of that area are asking me not to cut the tree as it is sacred. They are also saying that a small temple should be built near that tree. If a temple is built on my plot or even if i cannot cut the tree, where will i construct my home? Can anyone please tell me what to do in this matter?

You can cut the tree !!!! You can contact garden department of municipal corporation if your plot comes under city limit !!! Don't construct temple otherwise people start trespassing in name of darshan !!! You can also apply for permission to forest department and in within 60 if you do not received the same it is automatically assumed that forest dept. has no objection and permission granted. Some people applying some other ways that pouring acid everyday to the root so after some time tree collapsed.
