Serving of summons in Criminal matters

Hi Friends

I started my own practice very recently  and practising in bangalore.  I was earlier in a Bank and a software company and started by pracice more for passion than for money.

I would like to know from my freinds, what are the modes of serving of summons to the accused in cases relating to Chq bounce case?  Is it only the police requrie to serve the summons?  what happpens if the accused is outside the state and country?
