Exemption is allowed by courts in cases where the person is ill, outside country or staying far away etc... Opposite party can object exemption but it is the discretion of court

Dear Querist

DV Case is purely civil nature case and if the lawyer is appear on behalf of the lady then if the court demand the exemption application or personal appereance then only the lady should be appear before the court otherwise not.
