No the exchange of garlands not enough for Hindu marriage. The Hindu marriage is solemnised according to customary rites and ceremonies of either party. All essential required ceremonies only make the Hindu marriage valid.

There is a judgement Sir which says ceremonies are not required for some communities.I just forget that case law.

This law section 7A HMA applicable in the State of Tamil Nadu only not through out India, especially if you're looking for law of marriage in northern part of India this shall not apply, so don't be confused.

A registered marriage under the Special Marriage Act is without any customary Hindu marriage which is valid civil marriage through out India.

Actually it is a case in which a boy and girl exchange garland in a mandir in presence of their friends without their parents consent and return to their parents houses.after some days girl applied for declare marriage void.Boy wants to continue marriage and demand restitution of conjugal rights.What are the provisions for boy's defense??

No defense for man as this is no marriage at all. Whatever anyone say but fact remains that no valid Hindu Marriage took place between both parties.

Marriage is union of minds not just bodies or exchange of garlands.

If one party does not want the other. Then even if you prove marriage through any means, resultant is no marriage.

For marriage to be success union of minds, hearts is must not just union of bodies and garlands.

There have been various instance where with proof, photo, video marriage declared void. You should understand force = rape. Don’t run on road which leads no where. It is waste to pursue this matter in court. Better to jerk off and find someone else.
