Section 2(a) Of the Criminal Procedure code define "bailable offence" as "an offence which is shown as bailable in the First Schedule, or which is made bailable by any other law for the time being in force".

Section 436 of the Criminal Procedure Code provides that when a person not accused of a non-bailable offence is arrested or detained he can, as of right, claim to be released on bail. This implies that for bailable offences, no restrictions need to be applied by the police or the court, and can be claimed as a matter of right.

Therefore, the correct answer option must be 'C'.
