Millers Mill   08 March 2025

Tenant did unauthorised construction in room declared as slum.

What if the Area/property is declared as Slum and the tenant has done unauthorised changes in the room structure like raising ceiling height and created new room on top of house .... in this case can a Landlord file suit for eviction??...Or does the landlord needs a written permission from Slum Rehabilitation Authority(SRA) before filing an eviction suit??... What are the chances of getting permission from SRA for filing eviction suit in such case??

 Warm regards

If you are a landlord you can very well take action against the tenant for this violation of conditions of rental agreement as per law
