Conveyance deed available but lease deed not available

Hi friends,

We have a house in delhi which we want to sell. The house was initially on a lease from DDA (delhi development authority). It was converted into a freehold land 10 years back and conveyance deed was given by DDA. Now, the buyer is also asking for lease deed which is not available with us. We have checked at DDA's office, the lease deed is also not available there. Is there a way out for this and also, is there anywhere written that when the conveyance deed is available, lease deed is not required. We can use this to discuss it with the buyer.

Thanks in advance for your help

If the earlier lease deed with DDA is a registered one, you can obtain certified copy of the same from the sub registrar office.   Otherwise you can simply rely on the conveyance deed itself for proving the existence of lease deed.  If the conveyance deed expressly reflects/refers the earlier lease with DDA it certainly acts as an actual notice/proof of the earlier transaction (lease).

Best regards
