Cooperative group housing society

If husband is a member of cooperative group housing society and also owner of residential plot in society then please confirm whether wife can become member of another cooperative group housing society and  allotted another residential property in Delhi as per cooperative society act 1972.
If some person submitted false oath certificate regarding not a member and owner of residential property in any other cooperative society then allotted property can be cancelled?

You have to obtain NOC from existing co-op soc, showing reason for second residence. Then , once applied, you can book another resi Plot

Dear Sir

For allotment of plot an affidavit needs to be filed claiming that member/spouse/dependent unmarried childrens are not member of any other society as well as not owner of any other residential property.

If that affidavit was found false then can the alotted property can be cancelled??

I think that your question is whether husband and wife can separately be members in two separate housing societies. I know about Maharashtra and not about Delhi But there are certain fundamentals, which should be the same everywhere though not at all times.

The Co-operative movement is based on the social ownership or community ownership of what the individual members of the community require. In other words it is Socialism and has its roots in Marxism. Marxism  is against the creation of surplus value. Surplus value becomes unearned income of the concerned individual. Rent is also an unearned income and hence surplus value and is prohibited. Why should a person have 2 residences, unless he has in mind to let out one of them? That is the reason that Co-operative Acts say that an individual cannot have two properties in the same "area of operation" and a member cannot let out his flat even if he has only one residence. However from the very beginning this law was observed more in its breach than its observance. In Maharashtra if a person is denied membership of a Society for the reason that he has already a residence, he can complain to the registrar. The Registrar will surely order his admission.

Socialism died in the 20th century itself. With the advent of "globalisation" who cares.
