Credit card and unsecured professional loan

Dear Sir My brother in a law is doctor. he was using few credit cards and taken few unsecured professional loans on his name. unfortunately he was expired due to sudden illness at the age of 44. How the credit card liability and unsecured loans liability should be dealt . Since my sister has to run the family with two children with her mere income alone. kindly guide us. we came to know that at the time of unsecured professional loan sanction an amount is deducted towards lao coverage insurance. will it be helpful.
