Tell your brother to ask for the woman's contact details. Let him show that he is interested in her and would like to visit her. If she gives it to him then u can get ur area SHO to verify whether she is a phony or not

 

There are ways to check it, but unfortunately there are no sure shot ways to do that.

To begin with, approach a lawyer in your vicinity, who will help you to see if the person who would be your bride has no criminal antecedents or involved in criminal or any cases in courts.

If you want to do this personally, then approach by RTI application or simple application requesting information about her to the district police headquarters of the place where she has been residing. Police rarely help on such issues, but don't be disheartened if they do not cooperate.

Later, visit the websites of your state high court and different district courts where she is residing and check if any records exist against her name.

If you are so bold and determined, then request an Affidavit from her stating the true information you are looking for.

In arranged marriage set up your family and the would be bride’s family discuss things. Even through the family members and through her distant relations, etc you can try to find out about her character and what type of person she is.

If she is from a good reputed family, then they will not hide much.  

Try to gather about her in details from her locality & neighborhood too.

3. Understand the poem as a tool for teaching proper behavior through the examples of Rama and Sita.
