you can isssue a legal notice and proceed i court against them;make your spots removed and let the prove the allegations or suffer the damages

1. Criminal Defemation can be filed under section 499 r/w 500, in the local Magistrates court, by following due procedure of law, supported with proper documentary evidences & witnesses. Even "IF" you win the case, you would not be entitled for any monetary benefit /compensation /returns /backdated dues or whatever....
