declaration of results after the death of a candidate

We are an officer's association undergone elections during 3rd week of July 2011. Our counting of votes are due on 25.07.11. To-day one of our candidate contesting for a particular zone has expired. We was sitting candidate and sure of winning the elections concluded. After the death of the Candidate, if he secured maximum votes, whether the election committee is in order in declaring the results or has to withhold the result of the particular zone. Our Bye-law specifically says that the resultant vacancy on account of death, resignation, removal etc. will be filled in by co-option by the Executive Committee. I seek you guidance

The bye law cited by you applies to a case where the person concerned dies after assuming the  office.  In other words it applies to cases of sitting members of the Committee. AS the candiadte in the case cited by you has died before the results are announced, your Association will have to hold fresh election for the Zone in Question.
