Demat with very low value

I am unsure if this is the right category.

My father unforturnately passed away many years ago. He had a Bank account HDFC + Demat with HDFC (NDSL).

The value of the shares in the demat account is only around Rs 400 and bank balance is only around 10,000.

Now the bank/DP is asking indemnity etc. Which is fine but we are unable to provide surety/guarantee of a third person.

Getting a succession certificate is pointless when the value of assets is so low.

Are there any precedence where I can ask the depository to do the transmission only with an indemnity but without a guarantor.

I don't understand what is the point of a guarantor for a value of Rs 400 when I am going to spend Rs 300 on stamp paper ?

I would appreciate any help.

If you are so much cost conscious, why do you go behind the paltry amount of Rs. 400/- left behind in the demat account, ignore it and proceed with the claim for SB account alone.
